When a product cannot absorb any shock, vibration, or compression during transit, a lined wooden box is the correct packaging choice. Unlike corrugated cartons that flex under load, a wooden box provides a rigid shell that does not crush, twist, or deform regardless of what is stacked on top of it or dropped against it. The interior lining — foam, bubble wrap, or both — absorbs the impact energy that would otherwise reach the product.
Upackarts manufactures custom wooden boxes for fragile items to your exact product dimensions. Common applications include glass sheets, ceramic tiles, marble slabs, display screens, scientific instruments, camera equipment, medical devices, and antiques.
The outer box is built from 18-25mm plank timber with nailed and corner-screwed construction. The interior is fitted with a foam or bubble wrap lining on all six faces — base, four walls, and lid. Foam thickness ranges from 25mm to 75mm depending on the fragility and weight of the product. For items with protruding parts or irregular shapes, custom-cut foam inserts are available that hold the product in a fixed position and prevent any internal movement during transit.
For heavy items, the base of the box includes a timber bearer frame to allow forklift handling without stressing the plank floor.
Glass and ceramics exporters in Pune use lined wooden boxes for sample shipments and high-value finished goods. Furniture manufacturers use wooden boxes for marble tabletops, glass panels, and ornamental items. Electronics distributors use lined wooden boxes for imported equipment being transported to client sites.
Yes. Upackarts manufactures wooden boxes to any product dimension. For odd-shaped items, we recommend providing the bounding dimensions (maximum L, W, H of the product) plus product weight. Custom foam inserts can be cut to hold irregular shapes securely.
For glass sheets and panels, 50mm foam lining on all faces is the standard recommendation. For very thin glass or highly fragile ceramics, 75mm foam or a two-layer foam-and-bubble-wrap combination provides better protection. Upackarts will recommend the appropriate specification based on your product dimensions and transit route.
Lead time is 3-7 working days for most custom sizes. Rush orders can be accommodated. Provide your product dimensions and weight when enquiring for an accurate lead time and price.
